Merry Christmas!

             I celebrated Christmas in Tanjung Malim for the first time this year! It's totally a different feeling. Away from my family, away from the church service which involves hundreds of people. I had this simple yet meaningful and warm Christmas here in Tanjung Malim Methodist church. On the 24th night we had a Christmas musical night which went really well! Praise the Lord! There were more people than expected.

               Christmas musical night went on very smoothly and it's the grace of God that brought all of us together as a family to make this successful! On the next day we had our Christmas service here at Tanjung Malim, too. This day, is the day our sister in Christ is baptized! Congratulations to her! May God's grace be with her always and forever! Ii just thought about a year ago, at this day, me too, was baptized. It's already been a year and I God's grace never cease to pour on me. Halelujah! =)

Course registration

            This morning we were supposed to sing in class, for the edu subject class. Somehow he forgot because he was barking at those people who were late and complaining about the stupid add drop system. Once he said, class dismissed! My coursemate and I rushed out of the room at once because we don't want to be called out, in case he remembers. Haha.. What a joke.
             
              Course registration. We have to do it every semester. This time, we were supposed to be able to register at 12am, 21st Dec but the system only opens to some courses and we were told that the system opens course by course. I waited till 1am+ and I went to sleep while my friends kept watch. I woke up at 6am to find that my course registration is still closed until I went for class only it opened. Because of this most of us did not have enough sleep. Moreover most of the groups are taken. Please, give us the information if you want to open it course by course, don't keep us waiting! I really don't understand their system. Do we have to go through this every semester? Well, probably no for me because I only have to add EDU papers and Ko-ku papers. There'll be plenty of place for my major course. Thank God for that! =)

Laksa

            My coursemate brought some laksa ingredients back here from Bintulu last few weeks and we didn't have the time to cook laksa, yet. Today my housemates and I planned to cook in the afternoon. I went back home to help out. Throughout the process we had small talks, chit chats and some laughter going on. It's really tiring process but after all these I feel very relaxed indeed. The laksa wasn't as good as it was supposed to be. Somehow it lacked of something, I don't know what. But it's still nice though! We enjoyed the food.

Tim Tam!

            Tim Tam made my day! Our lecturer will give every one of us a Tim Tam each at the end of the class each semester. I had quite a bad morning and I really felt so happy after taking the first bite of Tim Tam! I wasn't very happy this morning. It's just because of some things he said that offended me. I hate him, seriously. But It wasn't a very big matter. At least I know I'm not like what he said. I should try to love these not-so-cute people.  Forget about it. We had Malam anugerah and it's a time where lecturers and students of FMSP gather here to take our certificates and watch performances. I got another sijil dekan for last sem. Yay! Hopefully I'll get another one for this semester. jia you! XD

Caroling at the MInes

            After these few busy nights I finally manage to take a break. We went to the Mines for caroling! It's 7 churches altogether that went for the caroling. We went there straight after service and we had few hours to shop. I didn't manage to buy any clothes because they are not very suitable. Haiz. Guess I have to get some when I'm back home this study week. I really enjoyed the moment where everyone come together as a family in Christ to spread the good news. I really had fun caroling there although I was really quite tired after all the KS thingy. Glory to the Lord who made this opportunity for us!

KS day 3

            It's finally the last day of KS. Finally we can put all our attentions in our courseworks. WE started our KS late again today. What was supposed to be at 8.30PM turned out to be a 9PM show. Everyone was very happy after the show ended, but I don't really feel anything. I don't know why. Yeah, I'm happy that they managed to finish their KS but I didn't have the mood that night, not like the previous KS where I joined them in the craziness. Well, at last it's finished! Hooray! I can have my lovely sleep.

KS day 2

            Second day of KS, one more day to go. Our performance started officially at 8.45PM. I feel quite sorry for the audiences because the time wrote in their ticket was 8PM and they can only go into Panggung Budaya at 8.15PM and still they have to wait till 8.45PM for the performance to begin officially. There were so many people last night. At 8.15PM the door was opened and they all came in, more like a rushing in. Haha.. There were so manh people I can hardly get my way through. I had to show the audiences their seats.

             When I was doing that, I saw a "corpse", yeah, corpse. They were distributing flyer for their upcoming theater, "Mayat". She was complete with white cloth wrapped around her and the spooky makeup. I was stunned when she actually stood in front of me. What in the world are they doing? Don't they know they are going to scare people?? Some of the audiences actually screamed and some backed away, shocked because she stood behind the door. It's really creepy you know... Another one actually dressed up as a "Pocong" and she jumped around the entrance. Oh please... Stop scaring people. This is Kemuncak Seni, not corpse theater.

            No more of that. We had a great performance today and the total time taken was 2 hours! Hooray! That's our target since the first day! Hopefully we will have another 2 hours show tomorrow!

KS day 1

            First day of KS. Had to prepare for the 3PM show, so we girls have to go for makeup at 10AM. I totally forgot about the 11AM class till my coursemate told me about it. I didn't make it in time bacause they finish my makeup only at 11 something. When we went in to the lecture room he was like, hey! It's already good night! Haha! Gosh.. Well, at least we go for your class ok... And we already told you we have Kemuncak Seni...

Last rehearsal

            It's our last rehearsal for the coming Kemuncak Seni, that is tomorrow. I bought my contact lenses this morning, finally. Hopefully I'll be able to wear it after such a long time of not wearing contact lenses. I remembered that I took about one hour to put on the lenses for both sides last semester. That's the first time. Haha.. Anyway, hopefully the makeup won't turn out ugly rather than pretty because the colour of the eye shadow during yesterday's full dress rehearsal looks quite ugly...

Full dress rehearsal

            We had a full dress rehearsal today, complete with makeup and accessories. We have to be there at 3PM for makeup. I had to wear Cheongsam for my performance and... I think it's too short. It's above knee length when I sit down and I can't walk too fast. That's the disadvantage of being too tall. I had once bought a dress online and it turned out to be a blouse when I got it. Great. Well the rehearsal today was not too bad, we had good comments from our lecturers. Hopefully it'll be as good as this, or even better for the time to come.

Fill in the blanks, anyone?

            had another day of useless class for 2 hours today. He got to know that both of us are music students and he was like, why didn't I see you sing last time? I want you to sing next week. Gosh. What is he even thinking? Please... This is not a singing class... More like time wasting class.. Fine, no more about that. English class today, every group had to find a newspaper article and make 15 blanks in it to be filled in. We had loads of it to do today, and some doesn't even say what should we put in. At last I didn't really want to do it. I don't feel like doing it. LOL

Exam!

            It's Sunday and we have to take our exam today. We got ourselves ready with warm-ups and some snacks in case we are hungry because it might take the whole morning until our turn. As expected, I was in the 13th group, if I'm not mistaken. After we finished everything it was like already 3PM. Thanks to pastor who asked someone to pack some lunch for us. Love them so much~ We ate like people who didn't have food for whole 3 days! We were so hungry that time. The exam is done! Yeah! Although I got a few punches and kicks, but still, It's done!! XD

Taekwondo and practices

            Had Taekwon-do as usual today. We had another day of it under the sun! Gosh.. Luckily I knew it earlier and I brought along my sunblock and put my cap on. If not, I'll be roasted again. We are going to have out final exam tomorrow, including sparring. So out instructor decided to have our practice extended to 1.30PM... Our faculty is having Kemuncak Seni, we have practice session at 2PM. We had to rush to lunch and rush back to practice. Yeah, with our smelly sweat smell. eww...

Mid-term

           Had my mid-term exam today. As predicted, I don't really know how to do it. I can't really remember what I have read. Arrrgggghhhhh!!! So many marks gone!! Sigh. Fine. I'll work harder in the final. Something surprised me. The assignment we handed in last few weeks was given full marks to me by our lecturer! I din't even think that deserved such mark. I didn't refer to a DVD when I should, I watched a youtube version of DVD instead. And the content is mostly like... made up. 8 of us did a good job in that assignment she said, and we are required to present it. Well, I'll try to present some better information. Anyway, I really thank God for the blessing. <3

Laughter is the best medicine.

            Had another whole day of activities. Well, not exactly. I stayed back in the afternoon to study for my mid-term tomorrow. I didn't manage to finish all of it in detail despite all the activities. Sigh. Guess I will not have good result for tomorrow's mid-term. We had full rum through today, and yeah, I had yet another good laugh. The Chinese Opera still made me laugh. Gosh... I really have to stop this nonsense if not I won't be able to concentrate. There's still another few things that made me laugh like mad today. Gosh.. What a wonderful day! XD

Chinese Opera

            The Kemuncak Seni is next week! We started practicing every night since yesterday. It'll be a very tiring week, again. I think i'll have dark circles again. Sigh. We had practice for oriental session just now, and this is the first time our Chinese Opera singers performed. The dialogues were in BM. Ouch. But the effect is quite okay though. Somehow I tend to laugh when they are performing. I don't know... I think it's the opera thingy mixed up with BM plus their acting. I had really a good laugh. That's also what made me missed a few notes during the rehearsal. =p

Another day of assignments

            I had only one class this morning, and since I have to stay back tonight I decided to bring along my laptop to do my assignments during my free time. That's what I love about my faculty. I can eat, online, refill my bottle and practice here. I can even do my practices and online without disturbance in the individual rooms provided. I love my faculty so much. <3
             I was halfway through my arranging for Caklempong when my battery went dead and it shut down suddenly. I didn't have any of my new arrangements saved inside. It all went "poof"! Gosh... That was devastating. I had to start all over again. Stupid me. And it's quite a task putting in the notes for that song... I used "Busy Cowboy" by Jay Chow as a piece to be arranged. Well, I had it almost done now.

Annoyed

            I had my class cancelled and the lecturer didn't inform us about it at all. We waited in the lecture room for more than one hour. As she was always half an hour late for the class so we decided to stay back another half an hour to see whether she comes or not. Alas, she didn't. What a time wasting afternoon. Fine. I went to a short meeting for KS protocol just now. Our leader said that we have to be at faculty that night. I went. And I was told that they only need the crews. So frustrated. Luckily I brought my laptop with me. I spent my time doing my assignment and I think it's not bad because I can really concentrate more if I don't do it at home. Had a very packed Monday and there's something that make me angry again. Well, think on the bright side, I finished one of my assignments, in few hours. Wow...

Water, again?

            I was sleeping very well last night until I heard the water dripping again at about 5AM this morning. That sound is really really annoying. It disturbed my beauty sleep, which I didn't have since a few weeks ago. I was still wondering where is it from because it never happened before until last few weeks. It's already the fourth time it happened. Should I call the plumber? Or it's just the drainage system? I'm not sure what it's called though. Haha

Accompaniment

            I always thought that my piano accompaniment is not good enough and it's not up to the standard. But this morning a church member of mine told me that my accompaniment makes people feel at peace. Wow! I didn't know that and I was really very glad to hear that! I was having difficulty in writing in chords and to play everything nicely without making mistakes. I need chords for me to look at to be able to play a song. I can't play by heart and even if I look at the chords I can still play those wrong. Yeah, I'm a music student but that doesn't really make me look like a music student. I think I have to improve on that. Thank God for the blessing!

Assignment week! Argghhhhh!

            I still have many assignments to be handed in this week, next week and the week after next.  I really have to get everything done before the Kemuncak Seni makes me busy. Although you might say that assignments of 5 pages is easy to do. Not for me. I will find out lots of information for the assignment and end up taking only a little, and I tend to get distracted. I need quite a long time to finish even the simplest assignment. It's really annoying. I wish I could do things more effectively, faster and informative. I think that most of my assignments didn't reach the informative level.

Sleepy..

            It was my friends birthday yesterday and his housemate planned a surprise for him. As we had practice at night, we had to make it 10.30pm. He was really caught in the surprise that time. Thanks to his housemate who prepared everything nicely! I went home yesterday evening to find one of my senior came over for few hours before flying off to Korea. So glad to see her! So after the celebration, we went out for supper together in a group. There were laughter and joy, we really had a great time! Since we have not finished our EC assignment, we decided to interview her before she goes off at 3am. We did the interview in the middle of the night. Funny right? We were so grateful that she is willing to help us. She's going to Korea to teach, I pray that she'll excel in everything she does!
             I went to sleep about 2am, and I have class at 8am today. I was so sleepy that I came back home to sleep in the afternoon. I didn't really sleep well, not because of the weather but because of some noises. I even heard doors banging. That's really annoying as I'm a light sleeper. But however it's still refreshing.

Where is it from??

            I slept very soundly throughout the night, it was such a great weather. I woke up this morning after my first alarm rang. And then I heard water dripping down from the top, as if someone is using our shower. I ignored it. It was quite loud though. It continued until I finally woke up after my second alarm rang. I open the door and I found that the water was flowing from the small hose sticking out from our bathroom ceiling. Weird. I can't find any reason for it to have water flowing out. It can't be the rain, can it? This happened before, but It's only for a few minutes. It finally stopped when I took my shower this morning. What is actually happening??

21st century flute music

            I have done my assignment, finally! I went out to print the assignment at a shop opposite our campus just 30 minutes before class starts. Luckily I was in time. We were told not to do things like that, but we did anyway, Haha.. Our lecturers had a concert at UPSI Panggung Budaya featuring flute and electromusic. The pieces played were 21st century music. There was a piece that requires her to change flutes every few notes and there's another one which we can hear lots of bent notes and bird chirping effects from the keyboard. Somehow I don't get what they are playing. Yeah, there are few unique techniques but the melody line is really... erm... I can say not my kind of taste. I find those pieces boring. I tried to listen with all my heart, but still I can't understand the music. Not only me, my coursemates also feel the same. We thought that maybe we still live in the 1900s. Haha...

Holiday?

            Holiday? No, not for us. Kampar's MUF came over to our church for a combined fellowship this morning. I had to wake up early to go to the market to buy some food for them. Thank God I have a someone to drive me there. Bought some food and went to church to prepare the things. I had quite a handful of things to do. I have to prepare the food and at the same time I have to prepare the songs for the praise and worship session. I didn't organize things nicely. I forgot to ask some other people to take over when I was busy practicing songs. But thank God our brothers and sisters are very helpful, they helped out with the job. What supposed to be 25 people from their MUF became more than 30 and what was supposed to be in the afternoon, became morning. I didn't have enough food prepared. Sigh. I got the lesson today. I will me more organized next time when I do things.

Childhood.

            I don't know why, but images of my childhood experiences flashed pass my mind today. I remembered how my elder brother and I used to play around at our uncle's kampung house. We were chasing chickens, ducks.. cats... I know, I'm quite a kampung kid. But to me, that's the best childhood I can ever have! If I have the chance to choose my childhood life, I would still prefer animals and nature rather than iphone, ipad and computers. I miss those days as kid. I have nothing to worry about. But now I'm still thankful that I don't really have anything to worry much.
            I'm still busy with my assignment. Planning to burn the midnight oil tonight to finish up everything. There are things to be done tomorrow and I want my attention on those.

Stressed

            I... skipped Taekwon-do today. It's just because I want to rush my assignment and... I don't like taekwon-do. At least I got to do quite alot of pages. 2 more pages for essay and 4 more chapters for summarizing the chapters. I want to get those done by Monday!! Quite stressed out with this assignment, but I'm more stressed for the upcoming fellowship tonight. My leader is not around and I have to take over the activities for tonight. I hope I can do it. Pray that God will guide me through it. Just got to know that the Taekwon-do instructor was checking through the attendance this morning, and I wasn't there.

Busy?

            As the kemuncak Seni is coming nearer and nearer, our faculty's final year students and lecturers seem very very busy. I can always see them walking around preparing props and costumes, and some busy painting backdrops for the stage. Those involved in kemuncak Seni are also not excused from the busy schedule. Practicing sessions for dances and ensembles are done every now and then, up till night. Preparing for it is really a hard work. I hope that the final results will be good as not to waste our effort. People say that even though it's only one minute on stage, but it requires years of hard work.

Tonal Harmony

Tonal Harmony. I find it quite interesting at first, but I find it quite hard to understand when I reached Tonal Harmony II. I had Tonal class this morning, and I think I have only got less than 50% of the information. I didn't do quite well in the mid-term for this paper. I'm quite worried that I can't get a satisfactory result at the end of this semester because there are quite many subeects that can't score. EDU papers. Sigh.

So grateful to have them around!

            I have only half day of classes today. Seriously, I miss Dr Pat. I don't know... I just prefer her way of teaching. She's coming back soon anyway. Yay! Since I had only half day of classes, I went back home after lunch to continue my assignment. We have to do a portfolio which includes the summary of every chapter, a 15 pages essay based on a topic and forums, which we did every week. It has to be handed in next Tuesday and I hope to get it done as soon as I can. It's quite a big task for me. I just can say that I'm really not suitable for doing anything involving too much words and thinking.
           
             When I was prepared for dinner, I rode on my bike and I realized it can move. It's only then I know that the chain came off. I had to borrow my housemate's bike to go for dinner. After dinner I told my housemate that I need help to fix the chain as I can't do it alone. She was going for supper when I told here that, so she said she'll help me out after that. I continued doing my assignments and was unaware that they were back. I went downstairs to fill my bottle with water and she told me that my bike is fixed! My housemate and another of my housemate's sister helped out with the fixing when I was busy doing my assignment. I was so touched! I'm really really grateful to have such people around me. This is such a blessing!

Lecture, or singing class? Hmm..

As usual, we had another of student's learning and development class this morning. Our lecturer came in and said, hey! let's have an open book test! Whoa.. It's like all of a sudden, without warning. Well, at least it's open book test. I had another quiz which most of us totally don't know about last week. Our lecturer didn't inform us about it directly, but she posted in myguru. Guess it's our fault we didn't log into it so often. These two tests really came as a surprise. It's like they are saying:"Surprise~~~". Gosh.. That's one thing. Another thing is, We had this open book test for an hour, and the other hour he asked our classmates to sing in front of the class. What's the point man?? Wasting time. Come to think of it, even if he didn't do that, he would also waste time by talking nonsense in class. No difference.

Scores

I had practice session for the coming Kemuncak Seni last night. They gave me new scores, again. This time the score is in a lower key. And the worse thing is, the range written is so out of my playing range. It happened before. What I did was transposed it an octave higher. I didn't mind that because that was only a few bars. This time, there are so many parts. When I asked our producer, she just said:"Oh, Is it? Just transpose it an octave higher if you can't play it." Hmm.. Okay... That's what I did, again. Lot's of pencil marks here and there. I was thinking, is it so difficult to understand that my lowest playing range is middle D? How can you write a middle B flat for me? Arranger was sitting next to me during practice. The question kept swimming in my head and I had the urge to post this question to him. Well, at last I didn't.

I hate Mondays.

It's Monday again. I hate Mondays this semester. I think I wrote about it before, but never mind. I still hate Mondays. I know that in order to be a teacher, I must take EDU papers. That's the requirement. But I really, really hate those papers. It's like.. so... boring.. And what I had is two EDU papers in a day. I didn't have that before. It was always only one a day, and two days a week. Suppose I have to like those subjects even though I hate them. I'll try. I really will. Duh.

Christmas is coming!

Christmas, it's about a month away from today. We had our church decorated with the help of our senior who designed most of the decorations. After church today all of us helped to decorate. We made stuffs out of recyclable items such as bottles, newspapers and clothes. All of us sat together in few different groups. Some did the sewing, some did the colouring and some did the decorations. We had quite a fun time together. There was laughter and christmas music was heard. The results of the decorations are satisfactory! Thank God!

Oh! The Sun!!!

When I was having my breakfast, one of my housemate came back from Taekwondo 1. She told me that some other people are using the gymnasium, so they had to have their practice at the field. So I quickly told my housemates to bring along their sunblocks just in case we have to go under the sun too. Alas! We really have to sun! Gosh.. Not again? I was sun burnt the other time.. I won't be that stupid anymore. I applied some sunblock, and I practices only for 30 minutes. I can't stand the heat, because I have not totally recovered. Felt a little dizzy.  Oh please.. No next time... I want our gymnasium back...

Ahem..

I took some cough medicine after dinner yesterday, and the effect will last up till 4am then I will start to cough again. That's what happened during Wednesday night. Well, this morning I can't take it anymore. At about 4am I started to cough again. I went downstairs, made some drink and ate some biscuits. After that I took the cough medicine. It's only then I can sleep well without coughing. Why didn't I do that the previous night? So stupid. Should have done so. At least I learnt my lesson. Haha

Black and white... Useless??

We have a system here in Music Faculty: If you want to use an empty room, book the room in BLACK AND WHITE  before you can use it. Well, that's basically what we did. This afternoon my friend booked the room from 2pm to 6pm. Somewhere between 3pm to 4pm one of our lecturer came in and say: " I asked my student to come here for classed and I planned on chasing all of you out." Why, That's just like so not fair... We have black and white and you don't. Fine. It's ok. We still have lots of other rooms to use. It's just that whether it has a piano or not. Is Black and white not important anymore?

Totally sick

I didn't sleep well last night. I coughed the whole night, I can't really have a few hours straight of sleep. The medicine I got from the clinic is not much use. I felt so tired that I skipped a class today. I went to Kilinik Nabilah for checkup. It's kind of useless. But at least I can have a try on the medicine. Consultation is like, super useless. What can you expect? Free of Charge. I seriously need to have my sleep. Seriously.

Clinic

My cough didn't get any better. During class this morning I coughed quite alot. Well, finally went to the university's clinic for treatment. Actually I don't think it's going to help much. At least I have some medicine to take. LOL. It's more or less like NS clinic. Not much advice. I told her, I have flu and cough. Ok, I give you cough drop and flu medicine. Remember to drink plenty of water she said. That's it. Somehow I feel like it's different from those doctors outside, which we have to pay for. Haha..

Back to class!

It's the end of the holidays, again. We had one week's off for Deepavali and now semester break. Holiday or not, it's already over. We have to get ourselves ready for upcoming tests and quizzes. What's bothering me now is not the exams, it's my health. I had been coughing since last Thursday. Today I felt a little flu coming up. It's really torturing to cough like mad. I feel like my stomach and throat are going to tear apart sooner or later!

Ooops!

I was the pianist for this morning's praise and worship. Something went wrong, or actually it's also considered my fault. The last song's key was lowered, without my knowledge. We have buttons to transpose the keys higher or lower without changing what we are playing. I felt something's wrong when I hit the first few chords. Gosh, it's lower than usual! Then I looked at the bright red light on the left of the board. It's lowered. I can't do anything but to continue playing. Partly it's my fault because I should have raised the key first because it's a request from the singers.

Cough

           Last few days I had sore throat. When it finally recovered, cough started to attack me. I think it's the result of not drinking lots of water during those few days in Penang. The weather in Penang was quite hot, unlike Tanjung Malim. I had been resting at home these two days. Gosh.. I think that's a really long time since I really put everything out of my mind and rest completely with only a little small talk and net surfing. Well.. That's my way of resting. I can't sleep too long or just lie down do nothing unless I'm really really sick. At least I didn't use my brain for anything that needs alot of thinking.

11.11.11?

         11:11, 11.11.11. I see it posted almost all over my facebook homepage. All 1s. Haha.. It's not every time we can see something like this huh? People like to place their important days such as marriages and engagements on these days. To them, it's a easier for people to remember and for chinese, we love 8.8.08. In cantonese, 8 is pronounced as "bat", which rhymes with "fat", which means prosper in cantonese. It's just like a sign that we will prosper if we use the number 8. Anyway, that's just a misc.

Rush!

      Rush, rush, rush! That's basically what we did today. We got ready at 8am and took the hotel van for a tour to Bbukit Bendera, Kek Lo Si, Toys museum and Perarakan. We got up and down the hill within an hour. Went up just for taking pictures as we have only 4 hours to play before rushing to get the 12.30pm ferry and the 2pm KTM back to Tanjung Malim. For me, I think that the toy museum is somewhat quite uninteresting, and it costs me RM10! It's really not worth the price. The place is not as organised as you think it is. You can see some cracks here and there. We didn't have enough time to get in to the perarakan. What a waste.. I really have to visit the perarakan next trip. I rather have my RM10 paid for the perarakan than to the toy museum. People out there, if you are reading this, remember, do not go to the toy museum!

Penang

         We have come to the last day of the camp. We have half day of activities today and we will head off to our homes respectively. I realize that I had sore throat first thing in the morning. Probably because I didn't drink enough water. It became worse and worse. I can hardly talk in the afternoon and I feel very tired and dizzy. After we checked out from the apartment, we went out to find a hotel to stay and we and up in Tunes hotel. The room is seriously small, and the design was like, what in the world the architect is doing?? It's so... Unreasonable to design it that way. Come on! It's small, but you still can design it to be a wider place. You could make lots of people get hurt! Well, at least that was only my friend and I got hurt. But it's really too congested. Ok, no more of that. I went a different way with 2 of my friends because I think I can't stand the heat outside. So we went to Perangin mall to shop. At least it's cooling inside and I can rest a while there. Thank God I didn't get sick so seriously.

            If life has a chance to take 2. This is the theme for the camp. As usual, we had praise and worship, workshops and games today. Today pastor Wong talked about Ruth, where he explains the whole book. It's about how Naomi and Ruth made their decisions for the unpredictable future they have and the faith in God that Naomi has. Making a decision is just like opening a door. If you opened the wrong door, close it, and open another door. God will make a way for you. Life, with Jesus, has a chance to take two!

Off to Penang

             A group of 16 people took off from Tanjung Malim to Penang in a 12.20AM KTM. It took us 7 hours to reach Penang. What a long journey! I didn't really have enough sleep. The coach was so cold! It was as if I was sitting inside a refrigerator instead of a train. That kind of kept me awake. Finally we reached there at about 7AM. We had to take a ferry over and from there we took a bus to USM, where the committee members will be waiting for us to pick us up to the apartment. 

             We were so tired when we reached there. I was so tired I wish that I can skip the day's activities just to sleep. We put our stuff in our rooms respectively before lunch. I was so not-in-the-mood during lunch that day. After that we had praise and worship, games, workshops etc.

Camp

I will not be able to go online from Monday to Thursday as I am going for a church camp. I won't be updating my blog for those few days but I hope to catch up everything after I come back from the camp. I just had a bad news last Friday. I was told that I have to stay back for practice sessions end of this week. I was planning to go home and I have not chosen a song for the solo part.

Saul

Tonight's fellowship talked about the story of Saul in 1 Samuel. I think that I was a little like him, the previous me. Saul was jealous of another person for being better than him and even intended to harm him. I had that kind of jealousy too, but not till the extent of harming people. I will think that I am no weaker than other people, why do I get lower marks than other people? Somehow I still take it as a room for me to improve and to find out the reason I got lower marks. Maybe I didn't do what the lecturer wanted and because of that my marks was cut off. Until now, if I have this kind of thought, I will pray and ask for forgiveness. Jealousy kills. So, stay away from it!

Tired

I didn't have enough sleep recently. I'm a very light sleeper and I think that it's really a nuisance. I wake up if I hear any noises, no matter soft or loud and I need complete darkness to be able to sleep. Sometimes I just admire those people who can sleep anywhere and anytime they like. I have to get back my sleep as soon as possible, if not I think I can't take it anymore. I was very sleepy this morning but I had no choice but to go to class. Well, what can I do?

Steamboat

My senior invited my friend and I to her house for steamboat today. I was quite shocked at the amount of ingredients she prepared! There was only five of us there and she prepared the amount enough for eight people! The steamboat was very very spicy. According to her it was their culture at Yunnan to have such spicy food. We ate and ate and ate. It's just too much, we didn't manage to finish all of it. Thanks to her I don't feel hungry at all last night. I was very very full, and I bet all my friends are too!

Quizzes and mid-terms

It's week eight and quizzes and mid-term exams are coming up one by one. I have a mid-term exam first thing tomorrow morning and I haven't started revising. I wonder how am I going to sit for it. Guess I have to burn the midnight oil tonight. I have orchestra practice tonight, so there's not much time for me to revise. Hopefully I'll get in every information I can from tonight's study.

PIano

After a long week's holiday,I have finally make myself practice my piano pieces which I had neglected since the past few weeks. I think that my teacher would not be so happy to listen to my pieces which have broken into many pieces! I better start practicing smart before I lose all my skills in my pieces. Beethoven's Pathetique sonata I was playing didn't have much of an improvement at all. I still have other instruments and subjects to tackle. Well, good luck.

Quiz

There was a quiz held in EC II class today. This came as a surprise to me because I never heard that there will be a quiz today. The quiz is in objective form for the first 5 questions and we were required to fill in the blanks for the next 10 questions. So total was 10 marks overall and I only got 6 out of it. My English seriously needs help now. I think my English had been deteriorating since after form 6. I have to save it before it's too late. I would not want to get another B for EC again.

Modem

I have no internet connection since I came back yesterday. The thunder spoiled our modem, and surprisingly, our housemate's room fan was also not working since the incident. so we decided to cram into my room for a few nights before the repairman comes on Monday. It's quite fun though because there are not many times that we can actually sit together and laugh for hours in a room. =D

TM

Prepared to go back to Tanjung Malim this morning. Actually I was supposed to come back on Sunday but I have practice on Saturday night and I have already skipped Friday's practice session. So thankful to have parents that love me so much that they are willing to fetch me from home to Tanjung Malim and back again. Well, came back here and I went to practice. It was then that I was informed that I have to choose 1 minute Erhu solo for the Kemuncak Seni. I was still wondering whether i still have my skills in solo playing as I have last time. It's been so long since I practiced solo pieces for Erhu. Hopefully I can do it!

Home sweet home

Second day at home. Feels nice to be at the comfort of my own house. I still have assignments to do, which there's one due next Monday. I hope I can finish it by then. But I'm so comfy now I'm so lazy to continue... =/

Diwali break

This is my first day at my hometown since 6 weeks of lecture. It's so good to be home! I missed my family, the food and also my friends back in my hometown! We met up for a few hours just now and chatted. I really enjoy the time together with my family and friends. Although the break is not very long, I'm still very grateful that I can have the chance to come back home. After so long of eating Malay food everyday, I was looking foward to lots of Chinese food! Not that Malay food is not delicious, it's just that I missed Chinese food. Specifically, it's Foochow dishes!! Yumm~

Sungkai!

Had a trip to Sungkai organised by Tanjung Malim Methodist Church. It's not very far from Tanjung Malim. We got there in only about 45 minutes. We had to walk quite a long way from the entrance at the Sungkai hot spring.  We had some games before preceding to the water park. After that we went to the water park and continued to the hot springs to dip ourselves and also our feet in. There's a part where the hot spring is between 90-100 degrees where we can boil our eggs we took. It's fun playing with a whole group of friends! I really had a great time there! Group photo~

I went home straight after the trip. The bus driver said that it's quite a distance to Sungkai bus station, and it's a different way. So his wife asked their son to give me a ride to the bus station. He didn't manage to find the bus station but he offered to take me to Bidor bus station instead. How kind! There are not many kind people nowadays.His wife was kind of worried and even asked me to call when I arrived home. I really do appreciate their help! =)

KL

Since today is a holiday, we planned a trip to KL. Main thing is to interview the RTM oboist for our EC assignment and the others are to enable my coursemates to consult him about the oboe and to shop. Straight after the interview in from 2pm to 5pm, 6 of us went separate ways. I had never been to Chinatown before, so I took this chance to go there. Unfortunately it started raining by the time we got there. So we just have our lunch and get the tickets to go home. It's still worth the trip though. Learnt a little bit more about oboes, even though I'm a flutist and we also finished our interview. That's just like killing two birds with one stone!

It's another rainy day

The weather was fine this morning, but it suddenly changed. The weather turned cloudy about 2pm. It's really really so unpredictable. It can be so sunny at first and it can turn gloomy all of a sudden. Rainy season really can bring joy and sorrow. I think it brings more sorrow to me this semester than joy because I have to cycle. Hahaha...

Sun burn

Since last night, my face was very very red. I didn't know that until I looked into the mirror when I was prepared for church last night. I got a shock seeing my red face. Everyone was like, what happened to your face?? I'm so thankful I have people around me who care for me so much. My housemate gave me mask to apply on and today pastor blended some cucumbers for me to apply on my face. I feel so grateful! Thank You so much!

Roasted!

We had 3 hrs taekwondo training starting 9am this morning. I'm fine with the period of time, but it's at the FIELD!! Imagine the hot sun burning you right through the skin! I feel like I was being roasted when the time approached 10.30am. This wasn't as bad as what I went through during National Service, which we had to march at 2pm. But that was already 3 years back, now I can't stand the heat anymore. Luckily the weather changed after that. It became cloudy and windy all of a sudden. I just hope that I won't get any sun burn because it hurts! >.<

Headache

I didn't have enough sleep for the past... 2 weeks, I think. The side effect finally came to me last nite. Around 8pm I started to have slight headache. Since I have something to do, I just ignored it. Then it got gradually worse and worse until finally I have to reject my friend's help on the thing she has to hand in tomorrow. I fell bad about it, but I really can't take it anymore. My head feels as if it's going to burst. I admit that I had overworked. I need more rest, as my room mate had said. Dear room mate, if you are reading this, I want to tell you that I will take care of myself from now on. Don't worry! XD

Money saver

Cooking at home really does save alot! I only spent about RM5 for a meal, 2 person's share. Although it's not as nice as those cooked outside, but it's still eatable. Hahaha... Hopefully my cooking skills can improve over the time.

Oh no... My holidays..

Well, Deepavali is just around the corner and I have been planning to go back to my hometown starting Wednesday to Sunday. Something came up. I can't go back as long as I planned it to be. We have KS run through sessions starting Friday, which means I have to come back on Friday. Gosh.. Why does it have to be this way? Well, think on the bright side. At least I can have my whole semester break untouched by the practice sessions. Teehee~

Sponsorship

After class, we went out to the shops around Taman Nusa and Taman Anggerik to ask for sponsorship for our coming Kemuncak Seni concert. Two of my course mates and I walked all the way from Taman Nusa to Taman Anggerik, going into every shop that's open to ask for sponsorship, or rather, donations. We managed to get RM100+ for today and I think it's really good enough. Yesterday we went to Taman U and we got RM200
+. Although the amount is lesser than yesterday's, but I'm still very grateful that we managed to get some money for today. And I'm also very thanful to have my course mates to help me. One of them was not actually involved in sponsorship but he is willing to help. =)

Presentation

Wasted two hours of my life on two hours lecture in the morning. Seriously it's so wasting time that I really think that 2 hours of my life every week had been wasted. Okay, enough of that. Now, we had presentation for EC class today, and I think that we did quite well, just that we didn't have the right article. What we presented was actually letters written to the editors, not entirely articles. I hope that it doesn't affect our marks that much.

Planner

It's after I came to university that I realized, a planner is very important. It keeps track of everything I have to do. Without it I don't think I'm able to hand in all my assignments in time. Somehow I realize that my planner for this semester has much much more events than I imagine. I didn't have that crowded writings everywhere in my planner before. For this months planner page, it is really congested, like a word jam. Hahaha.. But I still managed to get most of them ticked before they are due.

My hand hurts..

Taekwondo again today. In order to let us understand how blocking works, some of us were required to block the instructor's attack. He approached me today and I had to hit his arm in order to block his attack. That was really really painful! I think I'm going to have a bruise the first thing in the morning. It hurts even when I touch it gently. Ouch!

Yummy~

Two idiots cooked last night and we had alot of rice left over because we didn't estimate the amount of rice accurately. How stupid is that? Hahaha... So, we decided to have fried rice for dinner today with the leftover rice and veggies from last night. It's my first time trying to fry rice. With the help of my housemates, It turned to to be very tasty! Yummy! Although I didn't like the process of cooking, which the oil jumps out at me, but to eat something that we cooked ourselves is really satisfying. Second time cooking this semester. Hope to improve more! ^^

Flute

Had my flute lesson again today, Finished the Partita in A minor by Bach after few weeks of lesson and today my lecturer asked to play another piece by Telemann, Fantasie in A minor. I had to sight read just now. I think that my flute sight reading is much much better than piano. Probably because it has only one line whereas piano has two lines to read. Hopefully i'll improve in both of them.

Exhausted

Thank God I can ride home without the blazing sun shining down on me. After lunch today, I went back home because I was really really tired and I need to have some rest before continuing our orchestra practice tonight. Well.. Slept a few hours and now I'm up to continue my assignments. Assignment weeks are really torturing. I rather have practice weeks. Hahaha.. I'm going to try my skills at cooking tonight, hopefully it goes well. I'm not keen to eat burnt food or tasteless food. XD

Tuesday

After a whole day of activity yesterday, I finally have time for other things today. 3 hours of classes and that's it! I have time to practice my flute and piano. It's been quite a while since i have really sat down and practice my piano. There are still loads of assignments to do. I really have to get it done, fast.

Classes and practice sessions

Monday is seriously a busy day for me this semester. I have 6 hrs classes with 1 hour break in between and practice session for Kemuncak Seni after that. I was seriously exhausted. I hope I can get enough rest as not to burden myself with all the classes, assignments and practices. If not, I will be sick! And I really don't want that to happen.

The end of 30 pages

Sunday service as usual today and I continued doing my assignment this afternoon. Finally, I managed to finish the 30 pages required for the assignment! Hoorayyy!! This is the heaviest assignment I have ever had. I wouldn't want to have another one like this. It's really driving me crazy, what with all the time used on practice and classes. Well, 1 burden down, another... 5 more? I'm not going to get any rest this few weeks. Seriously.

Taekwondo

We had 2 and a half hours of taekwondo today. Seriously it's tiresome. 2 and a half hours is to replace the lesson we missed last week as the instructor was not around. Ever since I took Taekwondo, I hate saturdays alot because it makes my hands and legs ache the very next few days. Well, it's a good exercise though.

It's Friday again

It's Friday again. Most people will be cooling off somewhere after a whole week's hard work... But not me! I still have assignments to do and it's due Monday! Well, at least I had done more than half of  it. So far it's only 24+ pages. I still have lots of thing to do. Busy assignment week again.

KS

Kemuncak seni is coming soon! How time flies. Kemuncak seni is a final project for all music students. It is a requirement for us to graduate. As the number of music students are limited, all of the students in music faculty will be involved. The practice sessions started last week, and will be continuing till the performance. Well, good luck to all the seniors who are in charge of the KS this time!

Today is the last day our Vocal Ensemble II lecturer is going to teach us for this month. She'll be leaving tomorrow to go back to her hometown to see her mom, who was sick. She had been teaching us for the past 2 semesters, so it's sad to know that she's leaving. Although it's only for a short time, it's still a goodbye. I really want to thank her lots for her care and her great teaching. It means a lot to me. Thank You so much! See you soon!

1st Anniversary

           Last year's September 28th, my pet dog, Milo, was put to sleep. He had an incurable virus and was forced to be put to sleep to end his suffering. He was 4 years old. He had brought lots of joy to us during those years. Whenever I'm unhappy, I will sit right beside him and pat and talk to him. Some people may think that i'm insane because i talk to my pet, but I think it's totally normal. It can really release your stress. Without him around, Our house was so, so quiet. Miss him lots. I'm sorry if i'm being rude. But I really can't stand it. I was at class this morning and I went to get my bicycle straight after class. When I was about to unlock it, I found out that my lock was tangled in between the wheels. Someone had pushed my bike. Hello??? Can't you see that it's locked?? Lift it up if you want to move it idiot! Common sense please...

What a day!

It's Monday again! I really hate semester 3 Mondays, what with 2 EDU papers in a day and I have assignments piling up! I have to try my best to manage my time. I still have instruments to practice. So far it's the most hectic semester yet. Before I end my blog, I would like to share some great pictures of God's creation. The kittens!! XD

Cell Group

Every Sunday our brothers and sisters in Christ will come together to have a cell group to share God's words. Tonight's cell group was a great one. I've learnt to appreciate things that I have and also learnt the importance of prayer in our daily lives. I'm really thankful to have a sister in Christ that is willing to listen to my problems and sorrows, and prayed for me. Thank God for the great cell group today. Glory to our God! Amen!

A visit to LOGOs

Half day, a group of people, and a floating book fair! Yes, we went to the largest floating bookfair in the world, Logos hope! It's currently in Port Klang since 29 Sept and will be there till 23 Oct 2011 and it has more than 5000 titles of books available. Since it's floating all around the world, the stuffs they sell go by units to make things easier. The standard exchange is 100 units = 8 RM. There are lots of bible and spiritual books available. It's a great experience having a trip to a floating book fair! You who are reading this now, go to logos if you have not been there before! Hurry before it sails!!

Friday

It's Friday again! I love Fridays, but it also means it's almost the end of a week. It's Instrumental Ensemble time again today. We practiced at individual rooms since the classroom has not yet been opened. As the people from our class came continuously, we had a small ensemble at the corridor. It was really quite fun having an ensemble at the corridor. Hehe..

Crazy time

Among my group of friends, we music students are always being called the "crazy people". We are always chattering away, talk nonsense, and some lame jokes will be cracked among ourselves. This afternoon, complete with Piano, Oboe, Flute and two awesome vocalists and a camcorder, we had kind of a karaoke session in the faculty room. The room was filled with laughter and music which really made my day. I think we have to admit that we are really the crazier ones. =p

The weather

After so many years living in Malaysia, I still can't really tell that whether a day is going to be a sunny one or a rainy one. I was cycling back from campus this afternoon and it was VERY hot! The sun beams slapped on my face and burned me. However, As I lift my head up to look at the clouds, it's dark! Dark clouds! But the sunbeam is as strong as ever. We'll see later whether it will rain. Malaysia's weather is really unpredictable! Prepare an umbrella wherever u go!

Of assignments and facebook

I have an assignment that requires me to write 30 pages for only 3 points to write, 3 points! I've only done 4 pages so far. Somehow I'm always distracted by Facebook while i'm doing my assignment. I seriously have to get it closed down as long as I'm still doing my assignment. Got to start working on the other pages of my assignments. Bye.

Assignments

It's week 3, and I have assignments queuing up. Gosh.. This semester is going to be a busy semester, what with the edu papers and some other heavy subjects plus practice. By God's guidance, I believe I can get through all these! Today is such a busy day. I hate Mondays.

Youth Fellowship.

It's already the second week of the semester! How time flies! Yesterday night we had the first youth fellowship of the semester. It is also a part of welcoming new students to the fellowship. We had 8 newcomers so far, I hope there'll be more. We had such a great time playing games, praise and worshiping and laughing all the way through the fellowship. Here is the group photo.

After all the hard times in Taekwon-do class that morning, it was all forgotten during these few hours. Thank God for the fellowship!

Faculty night.

Our Faculty night was held on the 21st of September, at our Music Faculty. Our faculty night is known as "Malam Mesra", and the theme for this semester is Hari Raya. Our lecturers and students were all here for the function. Students of every semester were required to perform at least one song on stage, and before that, we also have Raya buffet as dinner. Throughout the whole night we eat, talk and watch the performances together, it's such an enjoyable time. With the music diploma students around, the amount of people is much much more than that of last few semesters. We took quite a lot of pictures, which I will share some of it. Enjoy!

Appreciation

As semester 3 approaches, all of us start to think about what type of transport we should use as we are not staying in the hostel anymore. Majority of us got a bicycle to go to and fro from campus. All was well till My bicycle chain dropped off after an Orchestra practice session. I am really thankful that I have so many helpful seniors and course mates that help me mend my bike. As the bike's chain is very black, some of them are willing to touch it with their bare hands to repair it for me. I feel so blessed to have people like them around me. Thank You so much for all the help, I appreciate it. =)

Facebook

I believe that everyone nowadays have a Facebook account, even as young as 5 years old. It's so common that people usually ask for your Facebook and not your phone number. A person can even get every information they want from another person in Facebook! The advancement of technology can sometimes be scary. Facebook has been going through a lot of changes, and my homepage layout had been changed. Seriously, I dislike the new Facebook. I would click the dislike button if they do have one. DISLIKE.

September - A rainy month.

Yup, It's raining again today as I'm writing this blog. It has been raining almost everyday since the middle of August. The rain is really a nuisance, because when it rains I can't ride my bicycle to campus. Well, luckily it didn't rain this morning as Dr Mahathir was here to give a speech at UPSI.

Practice makes perfect.

For the previous 4 months, I had been sitting at home everyday doing almost nothing. The new semester starts and I seem to forget most of the things I have learnt. It's time I should brush up everything : My flute, piano and Erhu playing. All I have to do now is practice, practice and practice, no matter theory or practical. I have just read my previous blog entry, somehow I felt that it's quite an odd entry to look into. Do you think so? =p

English

Hi! I am a first time blogger, so I'm still not very sure of the settings in here. Well, for the time being, being able to post an entry is enough for me. This is actually a requirement for my English for Communication II class. The target is to improve our English writing skills. I think it's really a good way to improve our writing skills as we write everyday.
